Your intellectual engagement with Yale continues! Yale invites you to watch a conference online featuring leading voices on climate change. Former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry ’66 will be the moderator of the conference and will be joined by former U.S. Secretary of State James Baker, California Governor Jerry Brown, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, General Electric Chair of the Board Jeffrey Immelt, and actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

Hosted by the Kerry Initiative at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, the conference is on September 18-19 (Monday and Tuesday) and features five sessions with key business, political, and diplomatic leaders on critical topics including the future of energy; the role of the private sector; state, city, and international efforts; bipartisan U.S. leadership; and citizen engagement and activism.

Four of the sessions will be streamed live and the fifth will be available for viewing soon after it is held.

Here’s the schedule of the climate conference sessions:
 
September 18
11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. EST – The Future of Energy.
Speakers will discuss the future of energy, including solutions, opportunities and policies that will help address climate change.

2:30-4:00 p.m. EST – The Role of the Private Sector.
Speakers will explore the role of the private sector in addressing climate change, including market based solutions and opportunities in renewable energy.

September 19

10:30-12:00 p.m. EST –  State, City and International Efforts.
Speakers will talk about efforts by state, city, and international organizations to take responsible action on climate change.
 
2:30-3:45 p.m. EST – Bipartisan U.S. Leadership.
Speakers will discuss how to sustain U.S. leadership on energy and climate issues, and potential new avenues for bipartisanship efforts.

5:00-6:15 p.m. EST – Closing Plenary: Citizen Engagement & Activism.
Speakers will discuss citizen engagement and activism.
